Functional Textile Finishing Auxiliaries from Shanghai Yuanhong
Shanghai Yuanhong Industrial Co., Ltd. develops and supplies high-value finishing chemicals that change how a fabric behaves after dyeing, printing and washing. As a Functional Textile Finishing Auxiliaries manufacturer, we combine our own organic synthesis, university-linked R&D and factory production in Zhejiang with practical process support on padder, dipping and stenter lines. This range serves mills producing activewear, outdoor gear, medical textiles, protective apparel and premium home furnishings where durability, hygiene, comfort and light fastness are part of the final specification.

Application fit by fiber and end use
YH-816 and YH-909 are suitable for natural fibres, synthetic fibres and blends. They were developed for textiles that face moisture, storage or repeated contact: sportswear, workwear, upholstery, bedding and medical fabrics. Their cationic character works best in slightly acidic to neutral baths, so we check compatibility when anionic softeners or fluorescent brighteners are already present.
- For high UV exposure: YH-UV provides nano-scale shielding with average particle size 30-70 nm and improves light fastness beyond the typical 0.5 grade gain of conventional UV absorbers.
- For woven apparel and upholstery: YH-S1 solves weft slippage, warp fraying, seam displacement and loose texture without yellowing during high-temperature setting.
- For knitwear: YH-9803 gives cool touch and smoothness on mercerized cotton and combed cotton knitted fabrics.
- For flame retardant requirements: YH-1108 offers a simple process route across different fiber types.
Process integration and control
Most functional finishes can be applied on a standard pad-dry-cure range or exhaust dyeing machine without additional capital equipment. We supply process parameters with each product and adjust them to your line speed, stenter temperature and pick-up. A clean, absorbent substrate makes the result predictable, which is why we link this category with our Textile Pretreatment Auxiliaries range for the preparation stage.
- Padding for YH-816/YH-909: one dip, one pad; 1-2% owf pickup; dry and cure at 120°C for 5 minutes.
- Dipping for YH-816/YH-909: 1-3% owf, liquor ratio 10-20:1, pH 5.5-6.5; room temperature to 40°C for 20-30 minutes, then dewater and dry.
- Nylon route for YH-816/YH-909: no pH adjustment; treat at 50-60°C for 20-30 minutes, dewater and tumble dry.
- YH-S1: 10-40 g/L; can be combined with most softeners and hydrophilic finishing agents for continuous mass production.
The category is designed for low-foam, high-efficiency processing. Products are stable through stentering and curing, and we provide compatibility data for adjacent finishes such as repellents, raising agents and antistatic treatments.
Engineering, customisation and project support
Yuanhong’s R&D capability covers raw material evaluation, formulation design, process optimization and scale-up. We develop new specialty items with customers, adjust product performance to meet a specific fabric target, and support the transition from laboratory trial to production batch. Our patented work in functional materials and microencapsulated coatings underpins custom projects that standard commodity auxiliaries cannot meet.
We prepare each proposal around the working point: substrate, finishing line, target test and production volume. For new end uses, we can produce trial formulations and define the acceptance criteria together with your technical team.
Quality assurance and acceptance testing
Our quality approach follows the same path as product development: incoming raw material checks, batch-level control of appearance, pH, ionic character and solubility, and reproducibility tests before release. Our certification scope includes OEKO-TEX, and our development programmes are aligned with ZDHC principles and green chemistry.
For acceptance, we define dosage, process route and the performance properties to be verified. We can also supply reference formulation data for internal trials and support the evaluation protocol for your own laboratory.
Information we use to configure your solution
Every functional finish is an interaction between chemical, substrate and line. To prepare a configuration and quotation, we use the following project inputs.
- Substrate: fibre composition, construction, weight, shade and whiteness requirement.
- Finishing line: padder, stenter, curing temperature, line speed, liquor ratio and pick-up.
- Target performance: antibacterial or mildew test method, UV protection rating, slip resistance test, flame retardant class, wash durability requirement.
- Bath chemistry: water hardness, pH, and any cationic/anionic auxiliaries already in the recipe.
- Production plan: batch size, continuous output, dosing method and packaging preference.
With these inputs, we confirm the most suitable grade, recommended dosage, compatibility with your existing recipe and the process conditions needed for consistent results.
Frequently asked questions
Can YH-816 and YH-909 be used on natural, synthetic and blended fibres? Yes. YH-816 is designed for natural fibres, synthetic fibres and blends, while YH-909 shows strong affinity with textiles and fibres. We recommend confirming dosage and bath pH with your own substrate before bulk production.
Can anti-slip agent YH-S1 be combined with softeners? YH-S1 is compatible with most softeners and hydrophilic finishing agents. We still recommend a small compatibility test because the final hand feel, shade and slip resistance all depend on the balance of the recipe.
What curing conditions should we plan for YH-816 and YH-909? For padding, the reference route is one dip, one pad, then drying and curing at 120°C for 5 minutes. For exhaust application, use 1-3% owf at 40°C for 20-30 minutes; on nylon, use 50-60°C for 20-30 minutes without adjusting pH.
What packaging and storage conditions are standard? Functional finishing auxiliaries are supplied in sealed 50 kg or 125 kg plastic drums. Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated warehouse; shelf life is up to six months when the container is kept sealed.
Can you customise a finish for our fabric specification? Yes. We co-develop custom specialty items, adjust product performance according to customer requirements, and support the transition from lab-scale trials to mass production.
Do you provide technical support during commissioning? We provide comprehensive technical services, including process recommendations, dosage confirmation, compatibility checks and follow-up support for the finished fabric.
